Existing WHO research centers will be repurpose specifically for plague-related research. WHO is affiliated with 700 institutions in over 80 countries. Alerting and Protecting the Public
Massive internet, television, and radio campaigns will help educate the public about the disease and how to prevent its spread and treat symptoms. Leaflets, posters, and flyers will be created and published online for local governments to distribute. Print-outs will be sent if needed.
Distribution of Survival Kits
Survival kits will be distributed based on need. This is the best way to minimize the cost to the government without sacrificing the safety of the people who need the survival kits. In low-risk zones, survival kits will be sold for cash and proceeds will help subsidize kits for those in need. For people living in medium risk zones, survival kits will be given away with a suggested donation by workers wearing hazmat protection. However, in high risk areas, survival kits will be air dropped for free from proceeds from lower-risk areas.
